Process Decision Program Chart

• A Process Decision Program Chart (PDPC) serves two purposes:
  - It lists the steps required to complete a process and performs impact analysis.
  - PDPC accomplishes this by conducting a systematic examination of a process and the potential for failure.

• PDPC is best used when:
  - You're about to start a new process.
  - You're delivering a big and complicated project.
  - The cost of the process failing is high.

• Step 1
  - You begin by drawing a tree diagram of your process.
  - Put your goals on the first level, your key activities on the second, and your tasks on the third.

• Step 2
  - Then you brainstorm potential problems that could arise when carrying out specific tasks.

• Step 3
  - Cross off issues that are unlikely to happen.

• Step 4
  - Determine the most likely problems and develop counter measures.
